TV & tablet setup
Three steps. The TV you already own.
If your TV has a web browser, you're two minutes from a live order-ready board. If it doesn't, a $35 streaming stick gives it one. No computer, no installer, no new wiring.
- 1Open the browser
On the TV, the stick or the tablet. Whatever's at the counter. No app to install.
- 2Go to pickupsignal.com/tv
A pairing screen appears with a six-character code. Nothing typed on the TV but a web address.
- 3Enter the code in your dashboard
The screen becomes your board and stays paired through restarts and power cuts.

Fire TV Stick
Works on every TV with an HDMI port. This is the answer when the TV itself has no browser.
- 1Plug the stick into HDMI and connect it to the shop Wi-Fi.
- 2Open the Silk browser. It's free on the stick's Appstore.
- 3Go to pickupsignal.com/tv. The screen shows your code.
- 4Type the code into your Pickup Signal dashboard.
Power cut mid-shift? Open Silk again. Your board is still paired.
Keep it awake
Settings → Display & Sounds → Screensaver → Turn off after → Never
Best role
Full board, or Making on one TV and Ready on another.
Samsung TV
Most Samsung smart TVs since 2017 have a built-in browser.
- 1Press Home and open the Internet app.
- 2Go to pickupsignal.com/tv. The screen shows your code.
- 3Type the code into your dashboard.
TV switched off overnight? Open Internet again. Your board is still paired.
Keep it awake
Settings → General → System Manager → Auto Power Off → Off

LG TV
LG's webOS TVs ship with a browser out of the box.
- 1Press Home and open the Web Browser.

- 3Type the code into your dashboard.

iPad at the counter
A small Ready-only screen right where orders are handed over. Great next to the register.
- 1Open Safari and go to pickupsignal.com/tv. The iPad shows your code.
- 2Type the code into your dashboard and choose the Ready screen role.
- 3Leave it plugged in on a stand angled toward customers.
Tip: A $15 stand angles it toward customers.

Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Never
Best role
Ready only, by the handoff.
Android tablet
Any recent Android tablet with Chrome makes a countertop Ready screen.
- 1Open Chrome and go to pickupsignal.com/tv. The tablet shows your code.
- 2Type the code into your dashboard and choose the Ready screen role.
- 3Pin Chrome so a stray tap cannot leave the board.
Tip: Screen pinning is under Settings → Security on most tablets; the name varies by brand.

Best role
Ready only, by the handoff.
Apple TV, Roku, or no smart TV at all? Those boxes don't have a web browser. The Fire TV Stick is the $35 answer for any of them.
The other device: the one staff tap.
The phone or tablet your team marks orders ready on. It isn't what's on the TV, but if it's asleep or out of charge, orders stop landing.
- 1The staff page keeps its own screen awake once orders come in. As a backup while docked, also set the device's Auto-Lock to Never.
- 2Add the staff page to the home screen (Share → Add to Home Screen in Safari; browser menu → Add to Home screen in Chrome) so opening it is one tap.
- 3Keep it on a stand and charger at the register, exactly where the next order gets typed or tapped.
On the wall this afternoon.
Pair the screen, then run it through your next two busy Saturdays. If the counter isn't quieter, turn it off.
